We all have special days in our lives when we want to look our absolute best! Our wedding Day, Graduation, a Big party or a Photo shoot for example. But even if you have a glam squad arranged to make you look beautiful, there are things that even the best make up artist can’t cover up. So my guest today, Summer Luman, local esthetician of Petal & plants, shares with you some super valuable tips that you can easily implement in the days leading up to your big day.
1. Be mindful of your diet! Cliché but true, you are what you eat! Eat plenty of various fresh fruits and veggies and consume your water! No one benefits from the look of dehydrated skin. Also try to avoid or limit your salt, sugar, and alcohol consumption.
2. Exfoliate on a regular basis. With using either a physical or chemical exfoliant, this step helps in the process of removing dead and dulling skin cells. When this happens the skin appears smoother, fresher, and brighter.
3. Hydrate!!! Using a mask or a serum, boost your skins water content to plump away fine lines and wrinkles. One of my favorite ingredients to utilize is hyaluronic acid. It can be used on all skin types and it instantly gives the skin a refreshed, hydrated, smoother appearance.
4. For an added extra glow try facial massage, jade rolling, or gua sha. Healthy skin needs to be nourished by blood flow and these tools can help you achieve that goal. Manual stimulation can help relieve tension in the face, boost blood circulation, and encourage lymphatic drainage to reduce bloating, puffiness, and dullness. Spend a few extra minutes massaging the skin in an upward and outward motion with your favorite facial oil to seal in the extra hydration from the previous step. No flow no glow…plus it feels good!
All of these simple tips can easily lead to a brighter, healthier, more radiant complexion with just a few extra minutes of self care.
