Carrie is a single mother of 2 beautiful teenage girls. When Carrie told me her story and the reason of why she wanted to do this Mother-Daughter Photo Shoot at her pre-consultation I remember smiling and feeling goosebumps all over my body… I knew she came to the right place… I knew I was going to give her and her beautiful daughters the experience of a lifetime… the perfect start of their new decade.

Here is Carrie’s story & experience with her own words.

“It was important to me to start a new decade, 2020, on a positive note. The last 2 years or so had been really tough. I wanted to start 2020 with a positive intention around wholeness and claiming my self-worth. 
There is a deeper significance to these photos. They are more just the physical images. They are about VISION and how I see myself because ultimately that impacts my girls. There is a quote that stands out when I reflect on the deeper meaning of committing to this photo session….”What you make of the world around you begins by how you see yourself.” 

Edina was able to show me what I couldn’t see about myself at the time. Now I have these photos, tangible memories, as reminders of our wholeness, fierceness and beauty. 

I wanted to show our strength and our connection as “the three of us.” I wanted to show my girls that we are whole as “the three of us.” I wanted a reminder of our strength, power, and beauty up on the walls of our home to help us get through the hard days. 
Time flies and this time we have together as “the three of us” is so so so precious. I wanted to capture our strength, confidence, beauty, and fierceness” as a family in a photo. These photos capture that and portray that. You cannot put a price tag on that. 
The images tell a story of growth and strength. 

Going through a divorce in 2019 was really tough, on us all. I realized that I had a choice, I could focus on the void and what was missing, or I could focus on what was right in front of me…. my family, my girls. The pictures are saying, “I choose growth. I choose you. I choose to focus on how we are blessed and what we have, not dwell on what we lost.” 
The images show what we are, whole. We are whole, the 3 of us, not broken. 

Ultimately, I walked away with the realization that a picture can speak a thousand words. And having these images up on the walls of our home is a great reminder of what we have, regardless of what we have been through, we have each other, We are strong and we got this. We are not broke, we are beautiful and we are whole. “ Carrie

Carrie and her daughters amazing photo shoot will be one I’ll never forget! Their story is incredibly inspiring to me as a woman but most importantly as a Mother!

Let’s face if life is not perfect. Some of us have a harder journey than others. BUT it’s HOW we overcome those challenges will determine the character and the trajectory of our future. It’s OUR choice whether we stay the victim OR set our intention to learn and grow from it. Sharing Carrie’s story was important to me and to her. If she can inspire ONE woman out there not to give up, stop feeling like a failure than it’s was already worth it!

And Carrie’s story is far from over! Honestly I could not be more excited to see what the future holds for these three amazing souls. I know it’s going to be EPIC!
